The Montana Section of the AWRA was founded in 1984 and currently consists of over 100 professionals and students that share the common goal of promoting water resources research, planning, development, and education in Montana. To accomplish these goals, the AWRA hosts an annual meeting each year to provide a common meeting ground for physical, biological, social scientists, engineers, and other persons concerned with water resources.

Research Hydrogeologist, MBMG
As a result of moving to Montana in 2010, I am still rather new to Montana’s “water scene”. I have learned a great deal and continue to learn. Researching Montana’s groundwater and surface-water interactions and resources, has shown me how past climatic trends may affect current resources. For this year’s conference, we hope to have lively discussions on how those past trends may affect our water resources – currently and into the future.
Please join us this year as we focus on “Water Quality & Quantity in a Changing Climate.” Our Annual MT AWRA Conference will convene at Fairmont Hot Springs, MT on October 12-14, 2016. As always, we will have a smorgasbord of stimulating speakers and posters along with our social hour and banquet. And, once again, our extremely competitive Hydrophile 3-mile run/walk (just kidding! It is all for fun). We look forward to seeing you in Fairmont!
